Elsa’s Inn on the Harbor
179 Main Street
Prospect Harbor, Maine

Elsa’s is nestled right on Prospect Harbor, in the heart of the Schoodic Peninsula and about two miles to Acadia National Park’s Schoodic District. As well as being an amazing destination on it’s own, the Schoodic Peninsula is perfectly located between the tourist destinations of Bar Harbor and Mt. Desert Island, 45 minutes south by car but only about 8-9 miles as the crow flies.  It’s more fun to access by the small ferries that operate all summer and most of the fall season.  It also about 90 minutes to Lubec, Campabello and Eastport 90 to the north. But trust us, once you are here, you won’t want to leave the Schoodic Peninsula!

Traveling in the greater Acadia area?
The Explorer bus will drop you off or pick you up right at our front door with easy access to Acadia National Park’s Schoodic District or the Winter Harbor Marina. From there, catch the ferry to Bar Harbor and Mt. Desert Island.  You will pass two light houses, almost certainly see seals, porpoises and lobstermen (and women) at work along the way.  And, sometimes the ferry passengers spot a whale on the crossing!  Or, ride your bike 2 miles to the Schoodic section of Acadia National Park, Winter Harbor or pedal the other direction to the picturesque town of Corea and the other villages of the Schoodic Peninsula.

Elsa’s is a half hour from Ellsworth, 45 minutes from Bar Harbor by road (or in the summer take the ferry). We are a half hour from Bar Harbor Air Port and about 60 minutes from Bangor International Air Port.

From Ellsworth, travel, route 1 north about 20 miles to Gouldsboro. In Gouldsboro, turn right on route 195, The Pond Road. Proceed 5 miles to the end, turn right onto route 186 (Main Street). You’ll see you are driving right along the shore line.  Elsa’s is located .6 miles on the right.
